Christophe Galtier’s team dominated from the start at home. Goals from Fabian Ruiz, Ashraf Hakimi and Mbappe gave the French club a 3-0 lead in the first half.
PSG scored two more goals in the second half. One from Mbappe and the other was an own goal. In the end, both teams played with one man down. Hakimi was shown a red card for a scuffle with opposing players. Ajax midfielder Romain Mangani was also shown a straight red card by the referee after reviewing it on the VAR monitor. Neither team created many chances the rest of the way.
With this win, PSG has moved six points ahead. They have 81 points from 35 matches with 26 wins and 3 draws. Lyon are second with 75 points in the same number of matches.
